Terms of Use
What this website is for, what it is not, and the rules that apply while you are on it.

01
Accepting these terms
These terms apply to your use of https://oaksoralsurgery.com and to everything published on it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.
They govern the website only. The terms of your treatment, including consent, fees and financial policy, are separate, are explained to you at the practice, and are set out in the documents you sign there.
02
The content here is general information
Everything on this site, including the procedure pages, the surgeon profiles and any answers to common questions, is published for general education. It describes how these procedures are usually approached. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a substitute for being examined.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery is decided from imaging, from a clinical examination and from your medical history. Two people with the same complaint routinely need different operations. Nothing you read here can tell you which one applies to you.
We aim to keep the site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that every page is complete, current or free of error, and clinical practice changes over time.
03
No doctor and patient relationship
Reading this site does not make you a patient of this practice. Neither does sending a message through a form on it, or leaving a voicemail.
A doctor and patient relationship begins when you are seen and accepted for care at one of our offices. Until that has happened, do not act or refrain from acting on anything published here, and do not delay seeing a clinician because of something you read on this site.
If you are having a medical emergency, call 911. Severe bleeding, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness or a suspected head or neck injury needs an emergency department, not a dental office.
04
No guarantee of an outcome
Surgery carries risk, healing varies between people, and no result described or implied on this site is promised to you. We do not guarantee an outcome, a recovery time, a success rate or a period of service from any restoration or implant.
The risks, benefits and alternatives that apply to your case are explained to you before you consent to treatment, and that conversation, not this website, is what you should rely on.
We do not quote prices on this site and we do not state what any benefit plan will cover. Coverage is a matter between you and your plan.
05
Links to other websites
This site may link to websites we do not run, such as professional associations, referring practices, mapping services or patient resources.
Those links are offered for convenience. We do not control those sites, we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement of anything they publish or sell. Once you follow a link you are on their terms, not ours.
06
Intellectual property
The text, photography, illustration, layout, code and marks on this site are owned by OAKS Oral Surgery or used under licence, and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
You may read the site, print pages for your own personal or clinical reference, and link to it. You may not copy, republish, sell, scrape in bulk, or use the content to train a commercial model, and you may not present any of it as your own, without our written permission.
If you would like to reuse something, ask. Referring practices are welcome to reproduce our referral information for their own use.
07
Using the site properly
When using this site, please do not:
- Submit information about another person without their permission, or a patient's information without a lawful basis for sharing it.
- Submit anything false, misleading, abusive or unlawful.
- Attempt to gain access to any part of the site, its hosting or the practice's systems that is not public.
- Interfere with the site's operation, including by automated submission, scraping at volume or any form of denial of service.
- Use the site or anything on it for a commercial purpose that is not your own care or a referral to us.
08
The site is provided as it is
The site is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement.
We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, that faults will be corrected immediately, or that the site or its host is free of harmful components.
09
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OAKS Oral Surgery, its surgeons, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of your use of, or inability to use, this website or anything published on it.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for the professional care we provide to our patients, for personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under California law. This section is about the website, not about treatment.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is the case, these limits apply only to the extent permitted.
10
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The current version is always the one on this page, and the last updated date at the top changes when it does. Continuing to use the site after a revision means you accept the revised terms.
11
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of this website, are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
The state and federal courts located in California will have jurisdiction over any such dispute, and by using this site you consent to that jurisdiction.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

Questions about any of this?
Ask us. We will answer in plain language, and if something on this page is unclear we would rather fix the page than explain it twice.
